Everyday Volvo Cars Maintenance

Keeping your Volvo healthy is our number one priority. Here are a few tips to help you minimize expensive repairs and keep your car in its best condition:

  • Regular oil changes are the best insurance you can get for your car. Changing oil and filters regularly ensures your car is running its best at all times. Regular oil changes are also the best way to ensure the lowest likelihood of turbo issues, which can be expensive to repair.
    .
  • Colorado weather can change in a minute – always be prepared for an emergency situation. (See our emergency car kit list below.)
    .
  • If you frequently travel to the mountains or in snowy areas, consider upgrading to snow tires and heavy-duty windshield wipers. Many of our customers maintain two sets of tires – summer and winter. This saves cost since the hot months of summer can wear expensive snow tires down quickly.
    .
  • In the winter, aim to keep your gas tank at least half full to avoid the possibility of moisture freezing in the gas lines.
    .
  • Check your coolant regularly and have it flushed and refilled every other year.
    .
  • Rotate tires every 5,000 miles to maintain better mileage and even wear.
    .
  • To maximize your mileage and reduce your Volvo’s environmental impact, maintain the air pressure in your tires and keep your car in alignment. If your car needs aligned, remember Voltek Independent Volvo Repair now offers wheel alignments.
